Introduction

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a senior leader to step into a high-profile Head of role within a major infrastructure and energy business.

This is not a traditional operational leadership role. It is a strategic, enterprise-facing position with responsibility for asset management framework ownership, capital portfolio governance, analytics, and decision support across a large and complex operational environment.

Sitting across the business rather than within a vertical delivery line, this role will play a key part in shaping how assets are managed, how capital is prioritised, and how long-term portfolio decisions are made.

You will provide leadership across asset management standards, capital planning governance, portfolio insights, and cross-functional alignment, while influencing senior stakeholders across operations, finance, procurement, strategy, and projects.

This role is ideally suited to a commercially astute and credible senior leader who can bring structure, clarity, and governance to a complex asset-intensive environment.

About this role

  • Lead the asset management framework across the operations portfolio.
  • Own capital portfolio planning and governance, ensuring strong prioritisation and decision discipline.
  • Set objectives, criteria, and governance frameworks for asset and capital management.
  • Provide strategic oversight of near-term and long-term capital priorities.
  • Deliver data-driven insights and analytics to support executive decision-making.
  • Identify emerging portfolio risks, opportunities, and longer-term priorities.
  • Drive alignment across multiple internal stakeholder groups and business functions.
  • Act as a trusted senior adviser on asset performance, capital allocation, and strategic portfolio matters.
  • Build credibility and influence across senior leaders while holding teams accountable to agreed standards and frameworks.

Is this you?

To be successful, you will be a senior asset, capital, or portfolio leader with strong governance capability and the ability to operate confidently across a complex stakeholder environment. You will bring:

  • Significant experience in asset-intensive industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, resources, mining, process plant, or heavy industry.
  • Strong capital portfolio planning, prioritisation, and governance experience.
  • Strong asset management framework and lifecycle governance capability.
  • Commercial and financial literacy, including comfort with large capital budgets and investment decision-making.
  • Ability to provide insight from data and uplift portfolio reporting and decision support.
  • A proactive, credible, and collaborative leadership style.
  • The confidence to lead horizontally across senior stakeholder groups without direct operational control.
  • The ability to set standards, provide direction, and drive outcomes in an environment with competing priorities and viewpoints.

This role will suit someone who is strategic, influential, and decisive - someone who can actively lead in the space rather than passively coordinate.
