Introduction

About this role

We are seeking a hands-on technical professional to support field operations involving surface wellhead systems and pressure control equipment. This role involves travelling to various field locations to assist with the deployment, assessment, and functionality of high-integrity surface equipment critical to energy production. You'll be working as part of a wider team to ensure that systems are prepared, installed, and maintained in line with industry standards.

  • Act as a field-based specialist supporting the setup and lifecycle management of surface wellhead systems.
  • Liaise with site personnel to provide technical support and ensure procedures are followed during installation and operational phases.
  • Monitor equipment performance and condition, providing feedback for potential system or design improvements.
  • Execute mechanical and pressure integrity checks as per testing requirements, ensuring full traceability of all results.
  • Organise site tools, components, and logistics in readiness for field deployments.
  • Participate in job planning and post-operation reviews, offering insight into field challenges and successes.
  • Support audits, risk reviews, and safety engagements while upholding strict HSE and operational standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians or site operatives as needed.

Is this you?

  • Technical diploma or certificate in mechanical engineering, pressure systems, or oil & gas field operations.
  • Proven experience installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing surface wellhead or pressure control systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in pressure testing tools, torque/tension systems, and component integrity checks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and diagnostic skills to identify system faults and provide improvements in field conditions.
  • Comfortable working in remote, onshore/offshore environments under variable conditions and schedules.
  • Clear technical communicator-able to explain procedures, guide team members, and produce accurate documentation.
  • Proactive mindset-takes initiative in safety compliance, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
