Reporting to the Principal Data Scientist - People Data & Insights, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide expertise on statistical, mathematical and machines learning concepts, conduct research and design, and implement and validate cutting-edge algorithms and predictive statistical models.
  • Perform exploratory analysis of datasets to develop and refine preliminary hypotheses.
  • Use statistical and/or machine learning methods to identify key data features and engineer data pipelines from source systems to predictive models.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to support the deployment and continuity of the analytics products developed.
  • Ensure best-in-class processes and techniques to develop and deploy data science solutions to the business..
  • Foster an innovative and disruptive technology culture to identify and drive value-creating opportunities.

Is this you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field, supported by a strong technical background and coding skills in Python, SQL and/or R.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing data science projects using Human Resources or Social Sciences data, including familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts, machine learning (e.g. regression, classification, clustering, time-series, etc.) and algorithms (e.g. linear regression, k-means, random forest, etc.).
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g. R dplyr, tidy verse, Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, ggplot, plotly, matplotlib, D3, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new concepts and technologies.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and remote compute environments such as AWS and Azure (e.g. SageMaker, Databricks, AzureML).
  • Experience with Git code management (e.g. GitHub, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, etc.)
