Introduction

On behalf of our client, a High Profile Service Provider to the Oil & Gas industry sector, we are presently sourcing a Cost Controller. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and commercial support. This is a 12 month residential contract open to candidates based in Darwin, NT.

About this role

  • Track and analyse expenditure across the asset lifecycle, including operations, modifications, life extensions and decommissioning / demobilising activities
  • Liaise with functional teams to understand cost drivers, validate forecasts and ensure costs are accurately captured and classified
  • Assist with the preparation, consolidation, and review of annual budgets, forecasts and cost phasing
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly cost and forecast reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Analyse historical cost data and provide insights to support cost optimisation and operational efficiency
  • Reconcile actual expenditure against budgets to support accurate and auditable reimbursable cost claims
  • Support the assessment of variation orders, change requests and contract amendments
  • Provide cost input to Commercial and Estimating teams across OPEX and CAPEX activities
  • Maintain cost data integrity within ERP and cost control systems
  • Support audits, client reviews, corporate reporting and continuous improvement initiatives

Is this you?

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience in Cost Control, Project Control, Commercial or Financial Management roles
  • Background in the offshore oil & gas industry with exposure to budgets, forecasts and cost monitoring
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel including VBA
  • Experience with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or JD Edwards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Logical, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
