Mining

With nearly 350 mines spanning almost every state and territory, the mining industry is a major cornerstone of Australia’s economy. Australian mines indirectly employ over one million people, yield billions of dollars in annual exports and produce coal, iron ore, gold, uranium, aluminium, lithium and a range of other precious and rare earth minerals. Western Australia in particular, is home to approximately half of Australia’s mining operations and often deploys workers to remote sites using fly-in fly-out (FIFO) arrangements.
