Introduction

We are seeking an experienced stakeholder engagement professional to support the delivery of Environment Plans and key regulatory approvals for a major energy operator. This role will lead relevant person and Traditional Owner consultation, ensuring approval pathways are aligned with cultural, social, regulatory and reputational considerations.

This position plays a critical role in upholding social licence to operate, shaping engagement strategies, and building constructive, long-term relationships with key on-country stakeholders and decision-making groups.

About this role

  • Lead and coordinate stakeholder and Traditional Owner engagement for approvals and Environment Plan submissions
  • Design, implement and maintain consultation strategies aligned to stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Manage relationships with relevant persons and community representatives, ensuring transparent and culturally appropriate communication
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on stakeholder issues, risks and opportunities
  • Partner with internal functions to integrate stakeholder considerations into project planning and execution
  • Support issues management processes and facilitate resolutions during sensitive discussions
  • Lead engagement with key regulators, including NOPSEMA and DEMIRS
  • Support delivery of the organisation's Reconciliation Action Plan initiatives

Is this you?

  • Proven capability managing complex stakeholder and Traditional Owner relationships in energy, resources, infrastructure or government
  • Strong knowledge of Environment Plan consultation requirements and social licence considerations
  • Able to influence senior decision-makers and translate cultural information into actionable strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate competing priorities, reputational risks, and sensitive cultural matters
  • Experience designing and delivering engagement frameworks, consultation materials and communication plans
  • Collaborative, inclusive communicator with sound conflict resolution and negotiation capability
