Introduction

As the Safety & Environment Advisor, you will integrate HSSE practices into site-based operations, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance.

You'll work with frontline teams and stakeholders to provide expert advice, drive risk management, and support continuous improvement.

The role involves on-site engagement, with accommodation and meals provided to support safe, sustainable operations and the organization's social license.

About this role

  • Integrate HSSE practices into asset operations and improvement plans, ensuring frontline safety and environmental compliance.
  • Provide expert safety and environmental advice, technical support, and leadership to foster a positive and accountable culture.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal teams, contractors, and regulators to drive compliance and performance.
  • Deliver on-site engagement and assurance, intervening to manage risks and support safe work practices.Lead risk management activities including facilitating assessments and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Support contractor HSSE management, incident investigation, and learning to enhance overall safety outcomes.Promote simplification of processes and embed human and organizational performance principles to improve HSSE delivery.

Is this you?

  • Strong commitment to Goal Zero and personal accountability.
  • Experience working frontline with operational teams to positively influence S&E culture.
  • Relevant qualifications in safety, environmental science, engineering, or related fields (desirable).
  • Proven operational experience with industry safety and environmental risks.
  • Knowledge of Queensland safety and environment legislation and standards.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Courage to share insights and support decisions constructively.
  • Driven to simplify processes and continuously improve HSSE practices.
