Introduction

Brunel is proud to partner with a leading energy organisation to appoint an experienced Production Geologist to join their Brisbane-based Subsurface team. This is a key role in supporting a high-performing operated Coal Seam Gas (CSG) asset across well planning, reservoir characterisation, and field development.

About this role

Deliver high-quality geoscience input to support ongoing CSG well delivery, abandonment, and reservoir development.
Apply geological expertise in CBM reservoir characterisation, volumetrics, static modelling, and well/reservoir performance.
Generate reliable subsurface prognoses for safe and efficient operations.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary subsurface team to deliver FDPs, static models, and technical assurance packages.
Document evaluations in accordance with technical standards, ensuring consistent and reliable data handling.

Is this you?

Proven experience in production geology within CSG/CBM operations, ideally in the Surat Basin.
Strong skillset in lithostratigraphy, well correlation, volumetrics, and WRFM support.
Proficiency in Petrel is essential; Python scripting skills highly desirable.
Experience in planning/delivery of new and P&A wells within an asset team environment.
Strong collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Ability to operate autonomously while contributing to larger technical and strategic outcomes.
