About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and manage GeelongPort's engineering operations. This pivotal role provides expert technical advice, ensures the optimal performance of our civil, structural, maritime, and mechanical assets, and delivers strategic guidance on infrastructure development.

As Engineering Manager, you will oversee capital projects and maintenance initiatives, driving efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will foster innovation, mentor team members, and collaborate across the business to deliver outcomes that align with GeelongPort's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical advice and leadership across delivery team and disciplines.
  • Oversee the design, construction, modification, and maintenance of infrastructure assets.
  • Lead the project management of capital works, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Drive asset management strategies, including lifecycle planning, condition assessments, and risk management.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Foster a culture of mentorship, learning, and professional growth within the engineering function.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement across engineering operations.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (essential)
  • Project Management qualification.
  • 10+ years' experience in engineering, with a strong knowledge in maritime, structural, civil. Experience in mechanical systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Proven expertise in managing construction and maintenance projects, including contract preparation and consultant engagement.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical ability, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SpaceGass, Maximo, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
