Introduction

You drive the development and improvement of dairy products from concept to factory implementation. In this temporary role, you translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure products meet quality, safety, and cost targets. You work at the heart of R&D, Operations, QA, and Marketing, influencing both innovation and optimization projects.

What are you going to do

You translate business needs into the development and implementation of new products and product changes in close cooperation with Marketing, Operations, and QA. You develop and implement technical solutions to maintain and improve the quality and cost-efficiency of existing products. You coordinate product tests at laboratory, pilot, and factory scale, analyze results, and translate findings into clear reports and stakeholder presentations. You set up, plan, and execute development projects in line with R&D and business strategy, including upscaling and value engineering initiatives.

  • Setting up, planning, executing, and analyzing development experiments in line with R&D strategy and quality standards.
  • Upscaling and implementing new products, processes, and applications in operational environments.
  • Improving and refining existing products and processes to reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Managing projects within agreed project management guidelines and timelines.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships within the triangle of Operations, Marketing & Sales, and R&D.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant technical developments and sharing knowledge within the organization.


You will be part of a development team of approximately 10 R&D colleagues working closely with supply chain and commercial stakeholders. Travel to factories in the Netherlands (approximately once per month) will be discussed with the hiring manager.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, (Bio)chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, preferably with a dairy specialization.
  • Experience with diary or cheese
  • Experience coordinating product testing at lab, pilot, and factory scale.
  • Experience with SAP and/or Power BI is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English (mandatory); Dutch is a strong plus.
