Brunel seeking an experienced Turnaround Scheduler III to support refinery turnaround planning and execution. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, reviewing and validating contractor schedules, performing critical path and earned value analysis, and coordinating schedule inputs across engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure turnaround milestones and deadlines are met.
The Turnaround Scheduler III is responsible for supporting refinery turnaround projects by developing, maintaining, and controlling integrated project schedules in alignment with established project scheduling standards and procedures. This role ensures that schedules accurately reflect engineering, procurement, construction, and turnaround execution activities, enabling effective planning, monitoring, and decision making.
In the pre execution phase, the Scheduler develops integrated cost and schedule systems, defines schedule logic using critical path methodology, establishes project milestones, and supports schedule risk analysis. The role includes preparing project control procedures, earned value reporting, and progress measurement frameworks to support accurate forecasting and risk mitigation.
During execution, the Scheduler monitors actual progress against the baseline schedule, analyzes critical path impacts, evaluates schedule variances, and develops recovery or work around plans as needed. The role requires close coordination with contractors and internal discipline leads to validate progress, verify earned value, and ensure contractor schedules are fully integrated into the master schedule.
The Scheduler participates in weekly schedule reviews, interfaces with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams, and prepares schedule status reports for leadership. This position requires strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Project, the ability to work independently in fast paced turnaround environments, and flexibility to support extended work hours during turnaround execution phases.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in project planning and scheduling for refinery or downstream projects, with hands on experience supporting turnaround activities. They demonstrate advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and are comfortable developing and maintaining integrated schedules using critical path methodology.
The candidate has experience reviewing and integrating contractor schedules, performing earned value and variance analysis, and coordinating schedule inputs across engineering, procurement, and construction teams. They are able to work independently in fast paced execution environments, communicate schedule risks clearly, and support extended work hours during turnaround execution phases.
An engineering or construction management background is preferred, though equivalent project controls experience is acceptable. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.
