Introduction

Join a tier one mining company as a FIFO Technology Site Specialist, delivering ongoing technology support across multiple fixed and remote sites in the Pilbara regions. Work autonomously supporting desktops, servers, networking, satellite communications, and ITSM tools on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.

What are you going to do 

You will be responsible for adhering to safety and risk management processes, logging IT issues using ServiceNow, and liaising with business representatives. You will create and update support documentation (Orion), act as an escalation point among peers, and coordinate work as delegated by other IT teams. You will work autonomously managing desktops, servers, networking, printers, UHF, Starlink satellite systems, and software queries. Collaborating with the Remote Camp Services team, you will handle communication equipment relocations and new office setups including comm racks, Cisco switches, Wi-Fi APs, and satellite backhaul links. Familiarity with satellite and UHF communication technology is essential. You will manage procurement and stock for end users, support project delivery onsite, and provide after-hours on-call support for critical infrastructure. Strong customer service and teamwork skills are vital, including mentoring peers and participating in 'Return to work' meetings.

Essential skills and knowledge 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years IT operational experience covering office applications, operating systems, networking, and satellite communication technologies like Ubiquiti. Familiarity with ServiceNow, Orion, and communication networks is required. A tertiary qualification in IT or related experience is essential, with certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, and customer service highly desirable. Strong organizational, multitasking, and IT change management skills are important. Candidates must hold an Australian C Class (Manual) driver's license, with Working at Heights and First Aid training considered advantageous.
