What are you going to do

We are partnering with our client, a leading organization within the Oil and Gas sector, in recruiting a Supply Planner to join our client's team on a temporary basis in Pune. This role is pivotal in ensuring finished goods are available at the right place and time across a complex supply network, while balancing service levels, inventory, and working capital. You will collaborate closely with global supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, deployment planners, and market stakeholders to drive optimized supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Supply Planner will be responsible for managing the replenishment of finished goods across the supply network to ensure the right products are available at the right place and at the right time while balancing inventory, service levels, and working capital.
  • This role requires strong expertise in supply planning and inventory management, along with exposure to demand planning, forecasting processes, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). The successful candidate will work closely with global supply chain teams, manufacturing sites, procurement, deployment planners, and market stakeholders to deliver optimized supply chain performance.
  • Additionally, candidates with exposure to digital planning tools, dashboards, reporting, and data analytics will have a significant advantage.

Supply Planning & Inventory Management

  • Develop and execute supply and replenishment plans to balance demand and supply across manufacturing sites, warehouses, and distribution networks.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal product availability while minimizing excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Monitor supply risks, capacity constraints, and material availability, and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Perform medium and long-term supply projections to support business planning and operational decision-making.
  • Support production planning activities and ensure alignment between manufacturing capacity and market requirements.
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining agreed customer service levels.

Demand Planning Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Demand Planning teams to understand demand forecasts and market changes.
  • Support demand-supply balancing activities and identify gaps between forecasted demand and available supply.
  • Participate in S&OP and S&OE processes by providing supply insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze forecast changes and assess their impact on production, inventory, and service levels.

Planning Systems & Analytics

  • Utilize planning systems such as Kinaxis, SAP IBP, APO, Blue Yonder, OMP, SAP ECC/S4 HANA, or equivalent tools.
  • Maintain planning master data, planning parameters, lead times, service levels, and replenishment settings.
  • Develop and utilize dashboards and analytical reports to monitor supply chain performance.
  • Analyze trends, inventory performance, service levels, forecast accuracy, and supply chain KPIs.
  • Drive data-based decision-making through reporting and visualization tools.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, deployment planning, and commercial teams across multiple regions.
  • Communicate supply risks, constraints, and inventory positions to senior stakeholders.
  • Work effectively with global and cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes and systems.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree or Supply Chain Certification (APICS/CSCP/CPIM) is an advantage.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Supply Planning, Replenishment Planning, Inventory Planning, or Supply Chain Planning.
  • Experience within FMCG, Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Lubricants, Chemicals, or global manufacturing organizations.
  • Proven experience managing inventory and supply plans in multi-site environments.
  • Exposure to Demand Planning, Forecast Collaboration, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ERP and planning systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Kinaxis Maestro, SAP IBP, SAP APO, Blue Yonder, OMP, SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, or JDE.
  • Exposure to dashboarding and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in digital supply chain transformation, planning automation, and data analytics initiatives.
  • Experience working with international stakeholders and global planning teams.
