What are you going to do 

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to support structural engineering and project delivery activities for ore processing facilities (OPF). This role will oversee structural assessments, design reviews, and compliance activities, while working closely with stakeholders, consultants, and project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural calculations and engineering assessments in line with relevant Australian Standards.
  • Attend and contribute to stakeholder meetings with operations, capital projects, and external consultancies.
  • Assess existing structures using structural modelling tools (e.g., SpaceGass), including vibration and fatigue analysis.
  • Develop finite element (FE) models and perform analysis for steel structures.
  • Review design and calculation reports prepared by external consultants and inspectors.
  • Prepare sketches and proposals for strengthening and modifying existing assets.
  • Conduct inspections under structural integrity management plans to support scope development for capital projects.
  • Review documentation and packages prepared by structural engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with compliance, engineering, and project management teams to ensure effective project delivery.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

  • 5-10 years' experience in structural engineering, ideally within mining, heavy industry, or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards for structural design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SpaceGass, finite element analysis tools).
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, contractors, and consultants.
  • Previous FIFO project experience is advantageous.
