Sr. Piping Engineer
Vacancy Number: TR-262228
Plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of a large-scale Offshore LNG project, delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective piping engineering solutions in line with project specifications, international codes, and classification society requirements. This includes overseeing the design integrity of piping systems for topside modules, subsea interfaces, and related offshore facilities, as well as ensuring seamless coordination with multidisciplinary teams, engineering contractors, and procurement functions.
From the FEED stage through detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning, the Senior Piping Engineer will provide technical leadership, conduct design reviews, resolve engineering issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. A deep understanding of offshore piping design principles, material selection for high-pressure and corrosive environments, and EPC project execution for LNG or FPSO facilities is essential to maintain design excellence and project success.
Lead and manage all piping engineering activities for the Offshore LNG project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and classification society rules.
Develop, review, and approve piping design deliverables including layout drawings, isometric drawings, material take-offs (MTO), piping specifications, and stress analysis reports.
Provide technical expertise in the design and integration of piping systems for topside modules, subsea interfaces, and offshore facilities.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, procurement, and construction to ensure timely and accurate execution of the piping scope from FEED to commissioning.
Conduct piping flexibility and stress analysis, ensuring system integrity under operational, environmental, and installation conditions.
Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, and technical meetings with the client (INPEX) and stakeholders.
Oversee vendor document reviews, equipment/material selection, and ensure compliance with corrosion protection and material standards.
Support procurement by preparing and reviewing technical requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor data.
Supervise site and yard activities related to piping fabrication, installation, and testing, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior piping engineers to foster technical excellence within the team.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university; Master's degree is an advantage.
Minimum 15 years of relevant piping engineering experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in offshore LNG, FPSO, or deepwater projects within an EPC environment.
Strong knowledge of offshore piping design principles, piping material specifications, and piping stress analysis methodologies.
Proven experience with piping flexibility and stress analysis software (e.g., Caesar II) and 3D modeling tools (e.g., PDMS, E3D).
In-depth understanding of international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and classification society requirements (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).
Demonstrated capability to manage piping scope from FEED through detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
Familiarity with corrosion protection methods and material selection for high-pressure and corrosive offshore environments.
Excellent coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
