Introduction

On behalf of Chevron, a word leading integrated energy company, we are looking for a SMP Project Engineer who will ensure that facilities engineering is completed safely, timely, cost effectively, and are of desired quality.

This role will support the successful transition of Engineering to fabrication/construction/commissioning.

What are you going to do

  • Focus on supporting SMP design and disciplines, including mech packages, structural design, civil design, and piping.
  • Ensure a strong link between Engineering (Detailed Design) and fabrication/construction to meet agreed schedules.
  • Support tender processes for fabrication/installation and pre-cast concrete scopes, addressing technical queries.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with project teams, contractors, and interfacing parties.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and deliver projects on schedule.
  • Manage and control change, including cost, time, and resource stewardship, and support site execution
  • Liaise with engineers and designers to develop design solutions and review deliverables for quality and consistency.
  • Interface with the Quality Assurance team on package-related activities.
  • Provide engineering support for the execution of plans, tasks, and deliverables assigned by the Engineering Manager.
  • Apply lessons learned and leverage efficiency improvements across CO2 projects.
  • Assist in establishing follow-on support scope and support RFIs/TQs from the construction team.
  • Oversee as-building/blacklining of fabrication/construction deliverables and support MOC process for Brownfields tie-in scopes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience in delivering capital projects in the oil and gas industry within brownfield offshore/onshore facilities environments (or closely allied).
  • Experience in any SMP discipline engineering supporting the delivery of small capital projects in the oil and gas industry within brownfield offshore/onshore facilities environments (or closely allied).
  • Minimum bachelor’s in engineering degree (In Structural/Mechanical or Piping) from a recognized university
  • Australian Full working rights
