Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Senior Drilling Completion Supervisor to work in a 2-year contract with one of our clients, a big player in the oil and gas industry. This position will work in a 28x28 days rotation (12 hours per day, 7 days per week), offshore in Suriname.

What are you going to do

  • Support drilling assets within the Drilling & Wells department and supervise offshore drilling and completion operations.
  • Act as the company's offshore representative and lead communication with the onshore operational team.
  • Ensure proper implementation of drilling and completion programs, including issuance and enforcement of rig standing instructions.
  • Supervise critical and high-risk operations, with particular accountability for well control and blowout prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with Company rules, HSE requirements, bridging documents, and well control procedures.
  • Coordinate daily operations, logistics, equipment readiness, and upcoming activities to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Optimize rig equipment, processes, and operational performance in collaboration with contractors and the onshore operations team.
  • Promote best practices to prevent major accidents, protect company assets, reduce Non-Productive Time (NPT), and improve operational efficiency.
  • Review daily operational reports and contribute to lessons learned and continuous performance improvement.
  • Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the offshore team, including mentoring junior drilling and completion supervisors when onboard.
  • Act as Rig Site Emergency Response Safety Engineer (RSES), ensuring compliance with Company and Contractor HSE standards.
  • Lead safety initiatives and ensure proper reporting and immediate escalation of incidents, accidents, and operational anomalies.
  • Serve as On-Scene Commander during emergency response situations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Technician or Engineering profile (Master's degree of Engineering or equivalent).
  • Experience in operational environment in drilling, experience as DCSSV.
  • Good knowledge of offshore and specifically deepwater environment.
