Introduction

Rotating Supervisor required to work in Afungi on a 28x28 rotational basis, offering a 12-month renewable contract. You will oversee the installation and commissioning readiness of critical rotating equipment in a major LNG onshore project.

What are you going to do

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily installation and technical execution of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, gas turbines, blowers, generators, and associated mechanical packages.
  • Provide field oversight to ensure all rotating machinery installation activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and prepare daily workfront activities to ensure resources, materials, tools, and documentation are available for planned execution.
  • Monitor equipment handling, storage, preservation, and protection to maintain asset integrity throughout construction and pre-commissioning phases.
  • Oversee equipment inspection, mechanical completion checks, alignment, tolerances verification, and installation quality control.
  • Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs), checklists, and documentation requirements are fully complied with.
  • Lead and promote HSE compliance across all rotating equipment activities, ensuring safe systems of work are consistently applied.
  • Coordinate interfaces between construction, mechanical completion, commissioning, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical and execution issues efficiently.
  • Review and verify installation records, punch lists, NCRs, and corrective actions to ensure timely close-out.
  • Support pre-commissioning activities including flushing, lube oil circulation, coupling checks, run-in preparation, and system readiness verification.
  • Assist commissioning teams during start-up and testing phases, including vendor coordination and troubleshooting support.
  • Ensure all handover documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in line with project turnover requirements.
  • Provide daily progress reporting, technical updates, and status feedback to project management and discipline leads.
  • Mentor and guide field personnel to maintain high standards of workmanship, technical execution, and compliance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in rotating machinery installation and supervision within major Oil & Gas or LNG megaprojects
  • In-depth knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, and mechanical packages
  • Proven track record in field supervision, alignment, installation, pre-commissioning, and vendor coordination
  • Strong HSE leadership capabilities and a thorough QA/QC approach
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Portuguese or French is advantageous
