Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Lead (Marine & Mooring) to join a high-performing Supply Chain Excellence team. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and quality of critical marine and mooring equipment across global projects.

What are you going to do

As Quality Control Lead, you will:

  • Ensure robust quality control across key supplier packages.

  • Develop inspection tools, processes, and templates.

  • Monitor third-party inspectors and oversee critical production inspections.

  • Lead investigations into quality issues, identifying root causes and implementing preventive actions.

  • Drive supplier qualification, performance assessment, and risk management initiatives.

  • Develop and standardise Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Review and validate technical inspection documentation.

  • Conduct supplier qualification audits and technical assessments.

  • Lead quality improvement and transformation initiatives.

  • Manage risk-based inspection strategies and cost-of-quality optimisation.

  • Lead improvement workshops with strategic suppliers.

  • Promote best practice, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across projects.

  • Engage stakeholders and communicate quality performance effectively.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in engineering, inspection, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Welding and materials selection

    • Corrosion mitigation and monitoring

    • Manufacturing processes for marine and mooring equipment

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification preferred.

  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and quality management systems.

  • Experience across marine and/or mooring equipment packages such as lifting systems, offshore hoses, safety

  • Proven ability to lead quality and process improvement initiatives.

  • Knowledge of Lean, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.

  • Fluent English.

  • Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
