Provide welding technical oversight throughout the procurement and manufacturing lifecycle of pipeline products, including line pipes and subsea casings.
Review and verify welding requirements in procurement documents, vendor manufacturing procedures, and inspection plans to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
Participate in vendor meetings, Kick-Off Meetings (KOM), and Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM), and lead quality-related discussions as required.
Review and comment on vendor documents such as ITPs, MPS, FAT procedures, inspection reports, and as-built dossiers.
Coordinate with vendors to resolve welding quality issues, including issuance and closure of NCRs and review of corrective actions and root cause analyses.
Verify vendor readiness for inspection (NOI) and coordinate with inspection bodies for welding-related inspections.
Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of findings.
Maintain welding quality traceability records and ensure proper integration into procurement and quality documentation.
Minimum Degree in Welding Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Materials / Metallurgical Engineering with IWE / EWE certification.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, covering pipelines, piping, pressure vessels, tanks, or mechanical fabrication.
Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with welding processes such as SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
Proven experience in welding of high-strength pipeline steels and Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA).
Solid understanding of welding metallurgy, corrosion, fracture, fatigue, creep, and embrittlement behavior of welded joints.
Experience in preparation and qualification of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and selection of welding consumables.
Familiarity with international welding and fabrication codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, EN, etc.).
Good command of written and spoken English, with strong communication and coordination skills.
Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight project timelines.
