Introduction
The Project Controls Specialist supports all aspects of project controls activities including reporting, schedule development, progress verification and change control. Monitors the Contractor’s project controls performance in the areas of scheduling, progress measurement and reporting providing advice where necessary to make certain the Company’s objectives are achieved;
Reports to Head Project Controls (Onshore Project - Site Execution).
What are you going to do
The Project Controls Specialist supports all aspects of effective client team project controls including schedule development, progress verification, project reporting and change control. The position participates in the monitoring of EPC Contractor’s project controls performance in the areas of execution planning, progress measurement and reporting;
Provides reporting, schedule development and progress measurement expertise within the Project Team;
Supports Head of Project Controls with ongoing project reporting, schedule control, change management and other ad hoc business team deliverables;
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries;
Works in a project environment in which the incumbent strives to achieve best in class Safety, Health, Environmental & Security performance by creating a culture that encourages everyone to perform their best every day on every task;
Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures;
Works effectively within established policies, procedures and participates in the further development of these to meet changing needs;
Demonstrates willingness to tackle a variety of tasks in response to evolving business needs;
Communications and Working Relationships;
Works closely with the Head of Project Controls for day-to-day project control activities;
Maintains regular contact with other members of the Business Team and with counterparts in EPC Contractor;
Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that requires effective communication, initiative, flexibility, and an ability to induce collaboration;
Problem Solving/Complexity;
Utilizes a systematic approach to problem solving that ensures accuracy, timeliness, and quality of documentation in resolution;
Able to work moderately complex tasks to completion within time constrains of Project, with minimal guidance from more experienced staff;
Decision Making Authority and Responsibility;
Able to work within a defined role with limited supervision;
Responsible for own work product with minimal guidance and oversight from immediate supervisor;
Establishes credibility with peers and supervisors and makes good use of their time;
Understands organizational authority and seeks appropriate line management approvals.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant industry experience;
Thorough and extensive knowledge of;
Project controls principles, theories, concepts, and tools;
Greenfield and brownfield;
Minimum of ten (10) years broad experience in the area of project controls, including cost, schedule, and progress reporting;
Minimum five (5) years’ experience associated with engineering, procurement, and construction for large (> $1BN) Onshore Facilities;
Minimum five (5) years’ experience associated with engineering, procurement, and construction of large onshore LNG plants;
Excellent computer skills. Proficient in the use of MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook) and performing analysis of large data volumes;
Advanced level in the use of PRIMAVERA (P6) planning software;
Advanced level knowledge in Change Order management for large complex projects;
Strong written and oral communication skills and good interpersonal skills, ability to work with others and to build consensus among team;
Strong coordination experience and good team skills;
Willing to work overseas in a team environment;
Willing to relocate to project construction site.
