Introduction
Brunel has an exciting long-term contract opportunity for a Process Automation Technician Commissioning supporting our client who is a leading global mining and metals company.
This contract position will work on-site in Bagdad, Arizona, the working week is Monday through Friday, on a 4-week on-site/1-week at home not working rotational schedule. Travel accommodations, transportation, and a monthly stipend will be included.
What are you going to do
The Automation Technician - Commissioning is responsible for executing field activities related to installation verification, calibration, loop checking, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems.
The role supports the commissioning team in ensuring that all instruments, control systems, and associated equipment are installed and functioning as per project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements, enabling safe and efficient plant start-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation Verification
- Verify proper installation of field instruments including:
- Pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters
- Control valves and on/off valves
- Analyzers and instrumentation panels
- Ensure compliance with P&IDs, hook-ups, loop diagrams, and datasheets.
- Check cable connections, terminations, tagging, and labeling.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
Education
- Diploma / Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent 3 years of experience)
Experience
- Minimum 3-8 years of experience in instrumentation and commissioning activities
- Experience in EPC or industrial projects (oil & gas, power, mining, smelting, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with field instrumentation and control systems
Soft Skills
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Good communication skills

If candidate is not local to the area, client will provide accommodations and travel for a 4 week on, 1 week off not working rotation, along with monthly stipend for living expenses.
