Introduction

Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Project Portfolio Planner/Scheduler Manager (Contract) with our client who is a leading mining company in Arizona.

What are you going to do

  • Manages and directs a portfolio of project planning resources within the project controls functional group for capital projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of project planning and scheduling on projects are compliant with corporate procedures.
  • Will retain the ownership and maintenance of planning policies and procedures which enforce the planning guidelines while mitigating schedule risk.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to project teams.
  • Provides strategic guidance as an expert on planning and scheduling for engineering, procurement, contract and construction field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Provides expert level experience and judgment to spearhead in-depth analysis of all aspects of project schedules.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field and fifteen (15) years of experience in industrial project planning (mining preferred) with at least ten (10) years of experience in project planning OR
  • High School diploma or GED and twenty (20) years of experience in industrial project planning (mining preferred) with at least ten (10) years of experience in project planning
  • Must be an expert user of Primavera P6 Scheduling software.
  • Must have experience managing a portfolio of projects in varying stages.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess good communication skills and the ability to train others.

  • If candidate is not local to the area, client will provide accommodations and travel for a 4 week on, 1 week off not working rotation, along with monthly stipend for living expenses.
