Introduction

  • The scope covers the construction, assembly, commissioning and handover of dredging equipment, mining systems, offshore equipment and small-sized vessels produced in India.
  • This position plays a key role in preparing the organization for future growth, operational scaling and expansion into new regions.

What are you going to do

* Operational Managemento Lead daily operations across production facilities and project sites.
o Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to quality and safety standards.o Develop and manage production planning, capacity planning and workforce allocation.
o Monitor operational KPIs (cost, productivity, utilization, cycle time, downtime) and implement corrective actions.o Drive continuous improvement and process standardization.
* Quality, Compliance & HSEo Ensure compliance with ISO standards, marine classification requirements and offshore regulations.
o Maintain strong HSE performance and a safety-focused culture across all sites.o Oversee inspections, audits and certification processes.
o Improve quality control by reducing rework and waste through structured root-cause analysis.* Supply Chain & Facilities
o Coordinate procurement, logistics and subcontracted activities in close collaboration with the Procurement Manager.o Oversee inventory management and implement controls to reduce excess stock and shortages.
o Ensure proper maintenance and performance of workshops, fabrication facilities and assembly areas.* Organization & Growth
o Lead, mentor and develop production leads, quality leads, supervisors, technicians and project personnel.o Upgrade workforce capabilities to enable more complex construction scope.
o Forecast manpower requirements based on growth plans and project pipeline.o Establish operational standards and processes to support expansion into new facilities or geographies.
o Contribute to tendering and budgeting processes by providing execution methodologies and cost estimates.o Support strategic decision-making through operational insights and performance reporting.
* You work closely with Sales, Proposals, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management and Finance to ensure coordinated execution and alignment with business objectives.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 20+ years of operational experience in heavy industrial equipment fabrication and/or offshore equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication, welding (including high-performance alloys and corrosion resistant materials), outfitting and mechanical/electrical integration.
  • Experience in a production environment outside India (mandatory).
  • Familiarity with marine classification societies, offshore standards and ISO compliance requirements.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume production environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a hands-on management style.
  • Proficiency in production planning, ERP systems and structured performance reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Master's degree (MBA or Operations Management) is a plus.
