Introduction

  • To ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing optimization strategies in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

What are you going to do

  • Plant Operation & Monitoring
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of solar PV systems, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, trackers, and SCADA systems.
    • Monitor plant performance through SCADA and data analytics tools; identify underperforming equipment and initiate corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during start-up, shutdown, and emergency handling.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical components.
    • Diagnose and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and optimize energy output.
    • Coordinate with O&M teams for inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze plant performance data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for production losses and implement improvement plans.
    • Support inventory management and procurement for spare parts and consumables.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure adherence to HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain environmental compliance, including emission and waste control.
    • Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and safety audits.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in solar plant operations or power generation.
  • Knowledge of PV systems, SCADA, inverters, and grid integration.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards (NEC, IEEE) and safety regulations.
  • Technical Expertise: PV technology, electrical systems, and SCADA monitoring.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and optimize plant performance.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Collaborate with technicians and stakeholders effectively.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency situations.
