Introduction

Join our team as a Mud Logger on a 6-month contract based in Adelaide, working on a 4/2 roster. You'll support real-time drilling data monitoring, reporting, and wellsite operations, contributing to safe and efficient drilling performance. Ideal for candidates with geology or drilling experience seeking hands-on field exposure and a dynamic work environment.

What are you going to do

  • Ensure all job deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
  • Monitor, record, and process drilling and formation data, ensuring the integrity and reliability of well information.
  • Track drilling parameters, gas levels, lithology changes, and trends to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Compile daily reports, client-requested ad hoc reports, and the End of Well Report.
  • Maintain logs, charts, and data summaries throughout the operation.
  • Communicate effectively with drilling personnel and client representatives, providing timely updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client well data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all HSE policies, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain all required safety training.
  • Ensure all data acquisition equipment is functional, calibrated, and properly maintained.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma or degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
  • Mud logging or wellsite geology experience preferred; however, entry-level candidates with relevant education may be considered.
  • Understanding of drilling operations and basic geological concepts is advantageous.

Other Requirements

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Willingness to work remote onshore/offshore locations as required.
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET/HUET if offshore, H2S, First Aid) depending on project requirements.
