Our renowned client is seeking a Metallurgical Technician for a 6-month FIFO contract at Cloudbreak on a 2:2 roster. Support the Process Engineering team through laboratory analysis, plant sampling, metallurgical test work, and accurate data reporting.

What are you going to do

Our client is seeking a Metallurgical Technician to join a site-based operational team at Cloudbreak. This 6-month contract is covering a team member on secondment.

The successful candidate will support the Process Engineering team by delivering accurate metallurgical data and ensuring laboratory activities are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Conduct representative plant and product sampling activities.
  • Complete sample preparation and laboratory testing in accordance with site procedures.
  • Perform metallurgical test work and assist with process investigations.
  • Accurately record, analyse and report laboratory data.
  • Support metallurgical accounting through reliable sample collection and analysis.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables and quality control standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and operational requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimising plant performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised laboratory and work environment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • 1-5 years' experience in a metallurgical, laboratory, mineral processing, or related technical role.
  • Strong commitment to safety and workplace procedures.
  • Experience with laboratory sampling and testing processes.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote site environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to mineral processing operations will be highly regarded.
