Introduction

Join a leading energy industry contractor as a Laboratory Technician on a 12-month contract based in Longford, Victoria. Working within a collaborative laboratory team, you will provide analytical and scientific support to operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity, with exposure to both onshore and offshore stakeholders.

What are you going to do

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and reliable analytical and scientific support to operational teams and other business functions. You will play an important role in ensuring laboratory activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect samples from onsite and offsite locations.
  • Conduct laboratory testing and sample analysis.
  • Perform routine laboratory housekeeping activities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure testing instruments remain operational.
  • Generate reports and maintain accurate laboratory records using computer-based systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality, integrity, and safety requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.
  • Liaise effectively with both onshore and offshore stakeholders.
  • 12-month contract opportunity.
  • Full-time site-based role at Longford, Victoria.
  • Immediate start available.
  • Potential for occasional offshore support activities.
  • Work within a highly experienced laboratory team supporting critical operations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience in a laboratory, technical, scientific, quality, or analytical environment.
  • A Science qualification is highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Current driver's licence preferred.

Experience within the energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, chemical processing, environmental, or industrial laboratory sectors will be highly regarded. Candidates located within or near the Gippsland region are encouraged to apply.
