Brunel are partnered with a leading energy company to deliver the best work opportunities for IT & Technical professionals within Australia. We are currently seeking a Licensing Operations Adviser to join on a 6-month contract based in Perth.
The Licensing Operations Adviser plays a pivotal role in delivering and evolving software licensing as a strategic service across the enterprise. This role oversees the end-to-end licensing lifecycle, ensures compliance, drives cost optimisation, and partners with both internal stakeholders and Managed Service Providers. Working across global teams, the Adviser will champion licensing excellence and deliver measurable value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Champion licensing as a value-adding service across the business.
Manage the full licensing lifecycle: allocations, purchases, installations, and compliance.
Act as the escalation point for licensing issues across internal teams, vendors, and business units.
Represent licensing in project intake and readiness forums to embed requirements early.
Maintain visibility of the license portfolio, addressing gaps and onboarding assets.
Identify and execute optimisation opportunities such as consolidation and re-harvesting.
Lead cost-saving initiatives and ensure value through vendor engagement.
Manage vendor contracts and relationships to maximise value and reduce spend.
Act as focal point for license integration during M&A activity.
Deliver accurate, actionable reporting on utilisation, compliance, and spend.
Proven experience in software licensing operations within a large enterprise.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft licensing (Azure allocations, reservations, True-Up), Adobe, and SAP.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functional and cultural boundaries.
Experience managing or working with offshore teams (India preferred).
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with focus on data-driven decisions and continuous improvement.
Experience in contract management and vendor negotiations.
ITAM certification highly regarded.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge licensing projects with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
You will receive an industry leading daily rate throughout your contract, including regular meetings with Brunel to ensure all contract conditions are exceeding expectations.
Your initial contract will be for 6 months, with review to extend at the end of the initial period.
