Introduction

We are looking for a Lead Petroleum Engineer in our Subsurface team. Please find below the role and responsibilities and the position will report to the Subsurface Manager / Deputy General Manager.

What are you going to do 

Job purpose:

* carries out reservoir and petroleum engineering assessment for appraisal,

development and production phases of the gas condensate fields in the Blocks 05-1b and 05-

1c, offshore Vietnam.

* The Lead Petroleum Engineer shall use all reasonable skill, care and expertise to lead reservoir

evaluation and petroleum engineering work to support field development and reservoir

management plans, including work in support of appraisal and field development well planning

as described below and ensure that the work is accomplished in compliance with the planned

subsurface work program, Company's Policy, safety manual, and the current standards and

practices within the petroleum industry.

Role and key responsibilities:

* Conduct reservoir engineering and reserve assessment studies to deliver field appraisal,

development, reservoir management and optimization plans for gas condensate fields in Blocks

05-1b and 05-1c, offshore Vietnam.

* Lead planning, coordination, and QC work for reservoir engineering and/or production studies

relevant to the appraisal, field development planning and production optimization strategies.

* Monitor production performance and make recommendations for production optimization.

* Identify/evaluate production enhancement opportunities and diagnostics of well behaviors.

* Deliver and monitor Reservoir Management Plan (RMP) and recommend and justify

surveillance needs for wells.

* Support preparation, completion and to ensure timely delivery of the Outline Development

Plan (ODP) and Field Development Plan (FDP) to JV partners and Petrovietnam for approval.

* Provide project economic evaluation support to Finance, Admin and Business Planning team.

* Support in compilation of Subsurface budget.

* The role also requires close liaison with reservoir engineers, geologists and geophysicists in

the Subsurface team, and the key personnel in the Operations, Technical & Support Service

(OTSS) team and Business Unit team to optimize ongoing production and daily operations.

* Mentor and coach junior staff and secondees.

* The position will report to the Subsurface Manager / Deputy General Manager.

Essential skills and knowledge 

* Knowledge of advanced reservoir engineering skills, gas condensate reservoir characterization, 3D dynamic reservoir simulation, volumetric assessments, including integration of petrophysics, rock physics, seismic interpretation, depositional models and reservoir characterization results.

* Experience of the reservoir assessment and engineering work particularly for the shallow marine, fluvial to deltaic clastic reservoirs.

* Experience in field development planning phase through Reservoir Assessment Report (RAR) to ODP and FDP.

* Experience in PVT modelling, sand management design, conceptual completion design,tubing stress analysis, nodal analysis, decline curve analysis, well back-allocation, PTA and RTA.
