- Serve as the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) discipline leader for international offshore oil and gas field development projects.Responsible for formulating the I&C execution strategy and project plan, interface management and discipline risk control, confirming basic data, developing design schemes, and reviewing/approving all I&C design deliverables.
- Communicate and coordinate with overseas project owners regarding I&C schemes to resolve design issues.
- Coordinate with foreign owners, classification societies, and other third-party regulatory or standards authorities (both national and local) to address related issues and review comments.
- Oversee the review of technical bidding documents, technical clarifications, bid evaluation reports, and vendor documentation, ensuring quality control throughout procurement-related activities.
- Conduct regular technical training, guidance, and lessons-learned sharing for the client’s design personnel—no fewer than 5 sessions or 20 hours of instruction each year.
- Complete other related tasks assigned by the client.
Requirements
- Education: Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in offshore engineering in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) design for offshore fixed platforms or floating oil & gas production facilities, including over 5 years of international project experience.
- Experience on Middle East projects (e.g., ADNOC, QatarEnergy, Saudi Aramco, etc.) is preferred.Prior employment with internationally renowned engineering companies such as Technip, Worley, Wood, Fluor, or McDermott is a strong plus.
- Thoroughly familiar with I&C expertise such as DCS, SIS, FGS, HIPS, wellhead control panels, oil and gas custody transfer, control valves, ESDV, flowmeters, etc.
- Knowledge of technical specifications, including SIL, HAZOP, fire and gas mapping, cyber security, etc.Well-versed in industry regulations and standards such as IEC, ISO, EN, API, NFPA, ASME, ANSI, ISA, NEMA, AGA, ASTM, and major operator standards (Shell DEP, BP standards, TOTAL standards, NORSOK, etc.).
- Familiar with the workflow and execution systems of international projects.
- Strong ability to develop and manage technical solutions, promptly identify and resolve issues, and effectively control and mitigate risks.
- Proficient in I&C design software such as SPI, INSTRUCALC, AutoCAD, etc.
- Skilled in office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Diligent, rigorous, highly responsible, and hardworking. Able to work overtime when required by the project schedule.
- Strong coordination and organizational abilities, capable of mobilizing relevant personnel to address and resolve issues efficiently.
- Extensive on-site/shipyard technical support experience.
- Willing to undertake domestic or overseas business trips and offshore assignments as required by the project.
