Inspect, test, and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure safety standards and government regulations are followed.
Perform and generate report for industrial hygiene surveys in the workplace, e.g. Heat Stress monitoring, Noise, Chemical Exposure, Local Exhaust Ventilation and Fume hoods, Lighting, Radiation and Ergonomic studies to evaluate health risks in the workplace and IH Exposure Assessment.
Manage all IH equipment, including routine maintenance, calibration requirements, and respirator fit testing requirements, including fit testing and record keeping and manage the emergency plant wide escape packs. Participate in compliance audits, conduct formal audits on IH programs, e.g. Industrial radiography & MSDS system, Safety Signs and Label Audits.
Approve and verify the use of all new chemicals entering the facility and act as Assistant Radiation Protection Officer, including issuing radiation clearance certificates when necessary.
Participate and Lead implementation and auditing Safety programs e.g. PPE Assessment, Contractor Safety Meeting, PTW, LT&T, JSA, Risk Assessment and Confined Space Permit Audit.
Manage the issuance and registration of Toxic lips and ensure all records are maintained as required. Manage and ensure the implementation of IH yearly sampling plan.
Participate in Plant MOC by doing Hazard Analysis, Change Evaluation and PSSR.
Assist IH Specialist to develop and implement Industrial Hygiene management Program/Plan to ensure implementation of the necessary IH controls to address at-risk health/hygiene condition within the workplace.
Support necessary section support in the absence of the Specialist to provide IH coverage as required.
Essential skills and knowledge
Required (Qualification / Discipline): Diploma in Science e.g. Biology, Physics, Nursing, Public Health. Preferred (Qualification / Discipline): Bachelor's Degree in Science or any discipline.
Required (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Up to 3 years of experience in the O&G Industry. Preferred (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Experience in Petrochemicals Industry.
