Introduction
Seeking experienced HV Commissioning Electricians for mining decarbonisation projects. Responsible for HV testing, commissioning, fault-finding, energisation, and switching activities across critical infrastructure projects within a safety-focused team environment.
What are you going to do
- Perform commissioning, testing, and energisation of HV systems including switchgear, transformers, protection relays, and control systems
- Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and secondary injection testing
- Test and fault-find LV systems
- Commission control systems and carry out instrument calibration
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and commissioning procedures
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and non-conformances
- Prepare and execute HV switching activities and switching programs
- Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate test records
- Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, package managers, and operations personnel
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety requirements, project specifications, and relevant Australian Standards
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- WA Electrical Licence (or equivalent)
- HV Switching Operator Certification
- Demonstrated experience in HV installation and commissioning
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems
- Experience with HV/LV testing, fault-finding, and energisation
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
- Current CPR/LVR and White Card
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety and compliance standards
- Experience within mining, renewable energy, or HV infrastructure projects (desirable)
- Exposure to HV switching, commissioning documentation, or permitting systems (desirable)
- Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems including SEL, Schneider, or Siemens (desirable)
- Knowledge of WA Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations and HV legislation (desirable)
