Introduction

  • Responsible for ensuring CO2 Sequestration Project employ and adhere to all HSE requirements, providing functional leadership in HSE related activities such as procedures, best practices, resources, lessons learned, incident management & investigation, etc.
  • Will have functional oversight over all project activities and help liaise with the HSE & Risk Manager, Technical (MP) and other HSE adjacent organizations (e.g., subsurface, operations, etc.).
  • Goal is to prevent all incidents in CO2 Sequestration Project.
  • Labor camp expected in RLC as MP are executed, which will require proper provisions for hygiene, food, welfare, safety, medical and recreational facilities
  • Interface with Massive number of major projects executed concurrently each of which has unique challenges in terms of execution risks that include heavy lifts, hot works, offshore personnel transfers, dredging and tie ins in areas that have extensive brownfield components and stringent requirements.
  • CO2 Sequestration is a project that will be executed in the middle of the expansion challenges/environment as well as interfacing with existing operating assets. The CO2 Sequestration Project will face the same challenges as the other expansion projects.

What are you going to do

  • Responsible for the development, organization, planning and execution of the CO2 Sequestration Project HSE & Safety Culture to ensure nobody gets hurt.
  • Responsible for an effective HSE surveillance program across CO2 Sequestration Project, by developing self-assessment and review plans at appropriate intervals to ensure adequate oversight of HSE activities and performance, and ensure compliance, then communicate the outcome to the CO2 Sequestration Project Leadership team.
  • Develop (or acquire) the tools to ensure the deployment of lessons learned and best practices to all CO2 Sequestration Project and monitor effective implementation to further strengthen the HSE performance of the project.
  • Responsible for the coordination and development of weekly, monthly, and annual reporting on the HSE performance and to ensure transparency and effective reporting that would enable measurement of leading and lagging indicators and thus help identify issues and risks proactively and devise corrective actions accordingly.
  • Lead/or assign lead for all incident investigations for CO2 Sequestration Project including teams’ formation, charter preparations and approvals to ensure the investigations are conducted timely and effectively.
  • Lead the preparation of the proper reporting and analysis for Project Leadership review.
  • Expected to lead and participate in key technical reviews to enhance the Subject Matter Expert (SME) content into the project execution plans and challenges.
  • Coordinates with contractors HSE personnel, project management team, project personnel and LNG operating and subsurface personnel for all HSE project deliverables.
  • Provides HSE input to PMT during all phases of the project and provide functional guidance and advice appropriate with the project nature and execution challenges and as requested by Project Leadership.
  • Maintain & foster effective HSE interfaces and working relationships with other PMTs, corporate HSE, and other functional HSE.
  • Responsible for championing Company Safety, Health and Environment policies and programs and performing specific duties and responsibilities related to this aspect.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor of Science in HSE or related disciplines
  • 12 years of experience as a HSE professional including 5 years in a second line management position.
  • Recent (within the last five years) experience of HSE management on major phase projects with extensive experience within a brownfield environment.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Engineering Programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
  • Experience with various process simulation software.
  • Ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of culture backgrounds.
