Introduction

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support a major sustaining capital wall raise project in Gladstone. This is a standalone role offering strong field engagement and leadership within a self-perform project environment.

What are you going to do

This position will see you working as the primary HSE Advisor on a sustaining capital wall raise project, supporting a workforce of approximately 50 personnel.

You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental systems while ensuring compliance with site and regulatory requirements. The role requires a strong presence in the field, engaging with crews and contractors to promote a proactive and safety-first culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining HSE systems and procedures
  • Monitoring compliance with site safety standards and regulations
  • Conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Providing day-to-day safety guidance and leadership on-site
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance

This is a hands-on, autonomous role suited to someone confident operating independently while influencing teams on-site.

Essential skills and knowledge 

To be successful in this role, you will bring solid HSE experience within heavy industry and demonstrate the ability to balance systems management with strong field leadership.

Key requirements include:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in HSE roles within heavy industry
  • Experience in bulk earthworks or tailings projects (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience on tier-one mining operations (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HSE systems, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to engage with teams and drive safety culture
  • Ability to work autonomously in a standalone position

  • Mon-Thurs 6:00am-6:00pm | Fri 6:00am-2:30pm | Sat as required (dayshift)
