Ready for your next long-term career move? Our client is looking for a dynamic HSE Advisor and HSE Officer to join their Western Australian Resources division. Based on Barrow Island, you will oversee the health, safety, and environmental framework for major ongoing Civil and Electrical Construction projects. This is a hands-on role dedicated to supporting site teams, mitigating risks, and maintaining an elite safety culture.

  • Lead and support Project HSE initiatives to ensure compliance with company procedures, legislative requirements and project objectives.
  • Manage hazard identification, risk controls, incident investigations, return to work programs and workers compensation processes.
  • Monitor and report on Project HSE performance, including lead and lag indicators, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams to support safe and successful project delivery.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, leadership and active participation in project meetings and operations.
  • Identify and implement practical solutions to improve HSE performance and overall project outcomes.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Experience within the Oil & Gas industry, with a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Health, Safety & Environment or a related discipline (Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred).
  • Cert IV or higher in Work Health & Safety
  • First Aid within 3 years
  • CPR within 1 year
  • Gas Test Atmosphere within 3 years
  • Proficient in work area planning, scheduling, and program management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Accredited Internal and Lead Auditor across Integrated Management Systems, including OHS, Quality, and Environment highly desirable
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a police clearance.
  • MUST hold valid Australian Working Rights.
