Introduction

Our client is a leading Australian mining operator seeking a High Voltage Electrician to maintain and repair HV systems on electric Liebherr and CAT mobile equipment including T264 trucks, R9400E excavators, in-pit substations and HV trailing cables. You will perform diagnostics, fault finding and HV switching, supporting autonomous operations with a strong focus on safety, compliance and zero harm in a fast-paced iron ore environment.

What are you going to do

  • Conduct routine inspections of Liebherr electric trucks and mining diggers, identifying electrical faults and maintenance requirements
  • Perform diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on high voltage electrical systems and components
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems on heavy mobile equipment, including CAT and Liebherr electric trucks and excavators
  • Carry out HV switching operations in accordance with site procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate closely with the autonomy team, providing electrical support and technical expertise where required
  • Assist in integrating electrical maintenance activities with autonomous fleet operations to ensure seamless performance
  • Accurately record all inspections, maintenance, and repair activities in line with site documentation requirements
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures, risk assessments, and isolation protocols at all times
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all work aligns with industry standards and zero harm principles

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Australian-recognised Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Current WA Electrical Licence (Unrestricted)
  • High Risk Work Licence (Forklift or Dogging or Rigging required)
  • Current HR Class Drivers Licence (desired or minimum C Class licence)
  • High Voltage Switching Operator Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR / LVR Certificate
  • Working at Heights and Confined Spaces Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience working on heavy mobile equipment (CAT and Liebherr)
  • Strong understanding of high voltage systems in mining equipment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and zero harm principles
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced mining maintenance environment
