Introduction

Our client is an Engineering company delivering specialist Design & Construct solutions to the mining sector. They partner with major miners and EPCM providers to deliver processing plant upgrades, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI), and sustaining capital works.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a General Manager - Professional Services to lead the technical and project services functions.

What are you going to do

  • Lead and develop the Professional Services function across engineering, project controls, planning, estimating, contracts, and procurement
  • Establish service delivery frameworks and standardise tools, systems, and methodologies
  • Build capability and depth within technical and project services teams
  • Ensure projects are properly structured from early-stage planning through execution
  • Oversee execution strategies, project schedules, and cost frameworks
  • Provide governance across project controls, reporting, and performance management
  • Work closely with Pre-Contracts and Commercial teams to align scope, budget, schedule, and execution methodology
  • Support risk identification, mitigation strategies, and contract strategy
  • Support bid strategy and major tender submissions
  • Provide technical and delivery input into pursuit activities
  • Ensure scalability of delivery capability in line with growth objectives
  • Provide senior-level engagement with clients during project setup and execution
  • Drive lessons learned and performance improvement initiatives

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Extensive leadership experience within mining, infrastructure, or heavy industrial project environments
  • Strong background in project services and engineering support functions
  • Experience delivering D&C or EPC projects in the WA mining sector
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability
  • Experience supporting delivery of processing plant and/or NPI infrastructure projects
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Project Management, or Commercial Management (desirable)
