Introduction

Join a team overseeing the safe retirement of offshore facilities - ensuring systems are shut down, structures prepared, and removal plans executed with technical integrity. You will support engineering reviews, facilitate contractor coordination, and help resolve brownfield‑related challenges. This is a high‑responsibility role offering exposure to end‑of‑life asset‑management and complex facility‑engineering tasks.

What are you going to do

  • Review and approve discipline‑engineering work (internal or contractor/sub‑contractor) to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory codes, safety, and project requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for facilities: including structural, piping, mechanical, process/integrity systems during shutdown, removal‑preparation, and asset‑retirement phases.
  • Plan and manage maintenance, shut‑down, decontamination, and pre‑removal activities - including hydrocarbon removal, pipeline cleaning/disconnection, system isolation, hazardous‑material handling.
  • Coordinate structural modification and lifting‑point installation to prepare topsides and jackets for heavy‑lift removal operations.
  • Interface between project team, execution/field teams, contractors, and contractors for removal/recycling - ensuring clear communication, alignment, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Lead and support resolution of brownfield / legacy‑asset issues - provide pragmatic, fit‑for‑purpose engineering solutions when unexpected technical, integrity or safety problems arise.
  • Oversee documentation, technical records, integrity and safety compliance, change‑control, reviews and audit trail for engineering and decommissioning activities.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, risk assessment, quality assurance, and liaise with project management to ensure deliverables, milestones, and safety/environmental regulations are met.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Extensive facilities experience who can assist in supporting the execution team
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical / Civil / Chemical / related).
  • Proven experience in facilities / structural / offshore / brownfield environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards, safety and compliance.
  • Good problem‑solving and practical "fit‑for‑purpose" mindset.
  • Clear communicator; comfortable working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail‑oriented, organised and good at documentation or oversight work.
  • Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges.
