Introduction

Responsible for performing installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning tasks related to electrical and instrumentation systems, while also providing assistance in minor mechanical works as required during project execution. Requires a hands-on professional who can ensure all systems are tested, verified, and integrated in line with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Collaborate closely with commissioning engineers and multidisciplinary teams, conducting loop checks, calibrations, functional tests, troubleshooting, and supporting system readiness for operation. Strong technical knowledge, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are essential, as this role will contribute directly to ensuring the safe, timely, and successful delivery of the commissioning phase.

What are you going to do

  • Assist Field Service Engineers during commissioning activities, particularly on control panel re-wiring works (cable termination, terminal block replacement, etc.).

  • Support mechanical scope of work, including tubing installation, cutting, bending, and connector fitting.

  • Carry out basic electrical and instrumentation tasks such as loop checks, functional testing, calibration, and troubleshooting under supervision.

  • Ensure all tasks are executed in accordance with safety standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.

  • Provide hands-on support and flexibility in handling both E&I and minor mechanical activities to ensure smooth project execution.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Technical background in Electrical & Instrumentation (vocational school or diploma preferred).

  • Minimum 4 - 6 years of experience in commissioning, installation, or maintenance within refinery, oil & gas, or industrial projects.

  • Hands-on capability in both E&I and minor mechanical works.

  • Strong knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices in industrial sites.

  • Ability to work under supervision, within tight schedules, and in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality work standards.

  • Must provide and use own basic electrician tools & consumables (pliers, screwdrivers, wire stripper, multimeter, electrical tape, hammer, crimping tools, etc.).

  • Must provide and use own basic mechanical tools (tube cutter, tube bender 1/2", pipe wrench, spanner, torque wrench, screwdriver, etc.).
