Introduction

The E&I Electrical Inspector is responsible for assuring the quality and compliance of electrical and instrumentation equipment throughout procurement, fabrication, and construction activities. This role conducts inspections and surveillance in accordance with Inspection and Tests, reviews contractor and supplier quality documentation, and coordinates third party inspectors to ensure all work meets project specifications, codes, and safety requirements.

What are you going to do

The E&I Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance, and safety of electrical and instrumentation equipment during procurement, fabrication, construction, and installation activities. The role provides technical inspection expertise and ensures all work is executed in accordance with project specifications, codes, standards, and Inspection and Test Plans.

Key responsibilities include performing inspections and surveillance activities at supplier facilities, fabrication yards, and construction sites. The inspector reviews and verifies contractor and supplier inspection and testing procedures, quality plans, and documentation to ensure adequacy and compliance. The role supports Factory Acceptance Tests, final inspections, release activities, and punch list closure.

The position coordinates and oversees third party and contractor inspectors, working closely with supplier QA/QC teams. The inspector interfaces with engineering, construction, and quality supervision to support drawing reviews, method statements, and inspection techniques. The role identifies potential quality risks early, documents deficiencies, performs audits and assessments, and provides technical guidance to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

Regular reporting of inspection status and quality issues is required. Domestic and international travel to project sites may be necessary to support inspection and surveillance activities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

The ideal candidate has strong experience in E&I construction and inspection within oil and gas, energy, or industrial projects. Proven background in quality inspection, surveillance, and QA/QC activities during procurement, fabrication, and construction phases. Solid understanding of Inspection and Test Plans, Factory Acceptance Tests, and contractor oversight. Able to coordinate third party inspectors, review quality documentation, and interface effectively with engineering, construction, and quality teams. Willing and able to travel to project sites as required.
