Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Design Engineer to support offshore fixed platform projects, with a strong background in Middle Eastern oil & gas developments. The ideal candidate will bring over 20 years of experience in control systems (ICSS), including design, commissioning, and operations across global projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute E&I design activities for offshore platforms and petrochemical facilities.
- Develop and review design deliverables: P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument indices, wiring diagrams, and control system architecture.
- Perform SIL calculations and validations using tools like eXsilentia and FTA.
- Conduct HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA studies; draft Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS).
- Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity.
- Review and approve supplier drawings and technical bid evaluations (TBE).
- Support commissioning activities including loop checks, functional testing, and SIF verification.
- Provide technical leadership during FAT, SAT, and start-up phases.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC61508/61511, API553/551, ISA-TR84.00.02) and client specifications.
- Promote engineering standardization and apply new technologies to improve project efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in E&I design and ICSS engineering, including offshore platforms and FPSOs.
- Experience in Middle Eastern projects (e.g., Qatar SHELL Pearl GTL, DR Refinery Vietnam, Indonesia BanYu URIP).
- Expertise in Honeywell Experion PKS, Safety Manager, Schneider Triconex, HIMA, ABB 800xA, Siemens S7-400, and turbine control systems.
- Strong understanding of process dynamics, PID tuning, and advanced control strategies.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- TUV Functional Safety and PMP certifications preferred.
