Introduction

Brunel was tasked to find a Drilling Engineer Specialist to work under contract for a major Oil & Gas costumer in Spring, TX.

What are you going to do

Responsibilities:

  • Research and assess drilling hazards by reviewing historical offset well data.
  • Develop well plans using wellbore geologic and reservoir objectives.
  • Prepare cost estimates for different well design options.
  • Identify and organize required equipment and materials to execute the drill plan.
  • Design wells to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze technical bids for goods and services.
  • Survey daily operations and provide rig site drilling and completion surveillance.
  • Provide engineering assessments of critical activities on-site.
  • Offer technical assistance for projects, equipment testing, and implementation of new procedures.
  • Interface with operations personnel to ensure well plans are feasible.
  • Collaborate closely with geology, reservoir, and project teams to ensure well objectives are met.
  • Deepwater experience may be required depending on the program (knowledge of subsea systems, riser analysis, subsea well control systems, etc.)

Essential skills and knowledge 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in well planning, design, and execution.
  • Onshore drilling experience preferred; deepwater experience is a plus if applicable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with well design software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in English (read, write, and speak)
