What are you going to do

* Supervises and controls site construction/installation of works associated with oil and gas process plant and pipelines, undertaken on a capital basis, in Company's Operational and non-Operations areas as assigned, covering Mechanical / Piping construction & testing duties.* Co-ordinate pre-commissioning activities and assist during commissioning of facilities.
* Initiate ITR-A, ITR-B, ITR-C, Punch list, Construction Completion Certificates CCC, Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC and facilitate the issuance of Project Completion & Discharge Certificates.* Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project quality plans and inspection & test plans (ITPs).
* Supervise the EPIC Contractors during the execution of construction activities.* Participate in reviewing of design drawings, Method Statements, material requisitions etc.
* Supervise and Co-ordinate mobilization of contractors to site and as per schedule.* Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections (RFI's), material approvals, checking validity of site working drawings and processing construction related documentation as required.
* Carryout daily checks on contractor's staff and work executed to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual obligations and specifications.* Reporting to direct Supervisor any work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
* Review and endorse work permit on behalf of Company and ensure that contractor's compliance with Permit to Work Systems and Safety Policies and requirements.* Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation.
* Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to Company.* Works closely with other Company Construction Supervisors (Mech / Arch/ Civil/Pipeline).
* Report to Company Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends, and recommendation for improvement.* Accountable for supervising contractor's work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems, and preventing accidents occurring because of negligence, by enforcing Company safety standards on the work site.
* Liaise and report with the QC Inspector on quality related matters.* Liaise with the HSE team on safety related matters.
* Coordinate with Discipline Construction Focal Point & Supervisor activities throughout the construction of multi-discipline projects, including chairing the weekly construction progress meetings, site document control, and liaison with different discipline supervisors, senior project engineers and personnel of other departments.* Review the project planning and scheduling for projects during the construction phase, identify any construction slippage, and assist in optimizing the contractors' resources.
* Review construction method statements, pre-commissioning procedures* Review and endorse RLMU's as-built drawings and construction dossiers.
* Ensure that Company Safety Regulation are implemented by contractors as per project Safety Management Plans and State of Qatar's environmental and other regulations.* Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project quality plans and inspection & test plans (ITPs).
* Co-ordinate with concerned parties to resolve routine site issues and refer technical queries to senior construction supervisor.* Update daily and weekly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verify contractors' progress statements for accuracy.
* Attend weekly progress meetings for assigned projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) level in a Mechanical Engineering discipline plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality and Construction or B.Sc. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering discipline from a recognized University.
  • 10 years in Oil & Gas Projects
  • 10 years experienced in Mechanical and associated Piping / Tie in / Vessels works related to Brownfield, Station, Refinery & Cross-country pipelines in Onshore Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Conversant with National & International Codes, Standards and Specifications.
  • Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
  • Good command of the English language (oral & written).
  • Knowledge of Industry engineering standards and QSHE awareness.
  • Good supervisory, planning and co-ordination skills.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Understanding Civil requirements and interface with Civil during Mechanical execution
  • Exposed to Testing, Pre- Commissioning, Testing and Commissioning of New Facilities in brownfield environment.
