Introduction
Brunel has an exciting long term contract job opportunity for a Buyer supporting our client who are a large global mining company. This contractor role will work from home with possible occasional trips to Chile.
What are you going to do
- Oversight responsibility for Purchasing, Expediting, and Logistics coordination of the assigned packages/requisitions/purchase orders.
- Incorporating standard Procurement procedures and strategies in the procurement of goods for the project
- Managing the execution of all procurement activities of the assigned packages and works with EPC contractor procurement team and cross functional departments to ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are being achieved.
- Interacting with the Project Procurement Lead, Discipline Leads, EPC Contractor Company and FCX on a day-to-day basis to meet project procurement objectives
- Collaborating with team (internal as well as EPC contractor) on strategic procurement and supply chain solutions
- Develop sources strategies and the use of Strategic Supplier Relationships
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- Spanish fluency: Full technical fluency required.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in SAP Procure to Pay modules.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in project procurement in construction or mining industries.
- A bachelor's degree - Engineering (Civil and/or Mechanical preferred) or Business-related studies.
- Knowledge of and qualification in Project Management will be helpful.
