Brunel is recruiting Artificial Lift Technicians to work with our major oil and gas client in Houston, TX.

The Artificial Lift Technician plays a key role in monitoring and optimizing artificial lift systems across company's field assets. This position focuses on surveillance, diagnosing well performance issues, and implementing strategies to maximize asset value throughout the well lifecycle. The role requires close collaboration with production operations, engineering teams, and company's technology centers to ensure operational excellence and drive production efficiency.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct continuous surveillance of various artificial lift systems to proactively identify and implement corrective measures that enhance production and equipment reliability.
  • Detect operational anomalies by monitoring key parameters specific to each artificial lift type (e.g., ESP, Rod Pump, Gas Lift).
  • Troubleshoot well performance issues, providing accurate and timely diagnosis to facilitate efficient resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and complete recording of well downtime, identifying opportunities to expedite returning wells to production.
  • Collaborate with production operations personnel, engineering teams, and company's technology centers to identify, develop, and implement production optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage workflows throughout the well lifecycle, including troubleshooting, well failure identification, workover processes, and post-workover performance analysis.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on artificial lift activities, performance, and optimization efforts.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience as an artificial lift technician, specialist, or engineer.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in well surveillance software platforms such as XsPOC, PumpChecker, Ignition, and Spotfire, Strong understanding of various artificial lift methods and their operational characteristics, Ability to interpret well data and identify trends and anomalies.

Preferred Qualifications;

  • Previous work experience with an artificial lift solutions service provider.
  • Experience performing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and artificial lift system design.
