The Brunel Foundation strives to encourage Brunellers, clients and many others to make sustainable choices, when and where they can. Making sustainable choices is essentially about building new habits. All changes we make together on a daily basis, will impact the environment on a global scale. One habit at a time.
At the heart of our organization lies a powerful force: our people. Each of us has the potential to make a real difference for our planet, and that begins with every day choices. By embedding sustainable practices into our routines, we create a collective impact that adds up to significant environmental benefits.
Sustainability starts with mindset and action. Through initiatives and collaborations, the Brunel Foundation encourages Brunellers to embrace sustainability whenever and wherever they can and inspire others.
One of these initiatives to support our mission for a greener future is sustainable corporate gifting. Gifts with a message, thoughtful, sustainable (produced) alternatives that reduce (plastic) waste, encourage mindful consumption.
Two of our key initiatives — ConsciousDress and Sustainable Corporate Gifting — show how these values come to life.
ConsciousDress
One way to stimulate sustainable behaviour and inspire others in a powerful innovative way is through upcycling. Our flagship initiative is the iconic ConsciousDress, collaboration with Atelier H. Inspired by the ocean’s waves, this dress is more than a piece of clothing; it is a thought-provoking work of art that symbolizes creativity, responsibility, and the power of sustainable choices. It is made of old Brunel materials, including banners used during the 2017-2018 Volvo Ocean Race. All the materials used are authentic and tell a unique story – of resourcefulness, resilience and love for our planet, but also about victories, celebrations, festivities and milestones.
In short: it’s a story in which we honour the past (used materials) in shaping the future (new habits).
Sustainable Corporate Gifting
To support a greener future we think it’s important to reduce food waste and cutting down single-use plastics. Together with e.g. Mepal, a specialist in reusable and circularly produced food and drink solutions, we empower employees to bring their own lunches, store leftovers, and choose durable alternatives to disposable packaging.
This collaboration makes sustainable living more accessible in our daily routines and encourages everyone to rethink the way we consume.
