Namibia’s offshore discoveries in the Orange Basin have put the country on the global energy map. We're talking about one of the largest deepwater discoveries in decades. This will be the first time in its history, Namibia will be moving into full-scale production.
The potential is huge, but so is the delivery challenge.
Local development and production capabilities in the region is very limited. Bringing these fields into production will require skilled oil and gas professionals. But hiring for the short term will not be enough. With projects likely to run for 20 to 30 years, companies will need to think about building a workforce that can support delivery now and develop capacity needed for the long run.
This is where having a strategic workforce partner can make all the difference. The companies that act early will be in a stronger position to secure the expertise they need, build local capability and mobilise teams that can support the next phase of Namibia’s energy future.

From 14-16 April, our colleagues, Thomas Javicoli, Chris McPherson and Tresham Matthews will be at NIEC 2026, Windhoek, ready to help you tackle your workforce challenges.
Our team brings wealth of experience supporting conventional energy projects worldwide, in both new and established markets. They understand how complex these projects can be and will help you build the right teams.
Whether you're planning urgent hires, long-term local capability, navigating local content requirements, or just want to understand how Brunel supports energy projects, book a meeting with our team!
