What are you going to do 

Based in Esperance, this role is responsible for inspecting electrical, solar, and battery installations, ensuring compliance with Western Australian legislation, Australian Standards, and the organisation's approved Inspection System Plan (ISP).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting inspections of consumer electrical, solar, and battery installations
  • Capturing and uploading inspection data, photographs, and reports in real time using an iPad
  • Leading investigations into serious electrical incidents, including shocks, fires, and regulatory breaches
  • Providing professional, impartial compliance advice to electrical contractors
  • Supporting continuous improvement in electrical safety outcomes across the region

The role includes occasional short periods of regional travel.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A current WA Electrical Worker's Licence (mandatory)
  • Eligibility for designation as an Electrical Inspector (Electrical)
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience in solar and battery installation, testing, and verification (or willingness to undertake further training)
  • High digital proficiency, particularly with iPad-based field reporting
  • A strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and stakeholder engagement
  • Full Australian working rights
  • A WA Driver's Licence (Class C or C-A) - essential
  • Remote 4WD Driving Certificate - desirable
