Introduction

Brunel is partnering with a major contractor delivering critical infrastructure within the Australian defence sector and is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Electrical) to join a long-term project based at Garden Island.

This role will support the delivery of electrical and telecommunications infrastructure within a highly regulated defence environment and offers long-term project exposure and career stability.

What are you going to do 

Working closely with the Project Manager and project team, you will take ownership of key engineering scopes and support project delivery across planning, coordination and execution. The role requires strong leadership capability and the ability to manage competing project priorities while maintaining quality, safety and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead engineering delivery across assigned project scopes* Support project planning, scheduling and resource coordination
* Manage technical documentation and engineering deliverables* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
* Monitor project performance, risks and cost impacts* Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Ensure project works comply with safety, quality and environmental standards

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Approximately 8-10 years' experience within infrastructure, construction or utilities projects
  • Strong experience delivering electrical or telecommunications related works
  • Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate project stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of project planning, cost control and commercial delivery
  • Experience working within complex or regulated project environments

Security & Eligibility Requirements

Due to the defence nature of this project:

* Australian Citizenship is mandatory* Dual citizenship can only be considered for NZ, USA, UK or Canada
* Candidates must be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
